Company Overview
We are a profitable startup building AI-native products for the US market. We help brands and customer-facing businesses strengthen their digital presence, engage audiences more effectively online, and operate with greater leverage in an increasingly AI-driven world.
Our products sit at the intersection of brand growth, digital reputation, customer communication, and operational efficiency. We are not interested in building software for its own sake. We build practical products that solve real business problems and turn digital channels into measurable outcomes.
Our team is distributed across the US, China, and Vietnam, and we are currently expanding our China-based team. Our commercial team includes people with experience from major US enterprises, including Bank of America. On the engineering side, several members of our China-based R&D team come from a Thoughtworks background, which has influenced how we think about software design, delivery discipline, and engineering quality.
We are remote-first by design and intend to stay that way. We believe in WorkLife Harmony, not Work-Life Balance. We care deeply about building, take responsibility seriously, and want to work with people who see remote collaboration, product building, and entrepreneurship as a meaningful longterm path rather than just a job.
Responsibilities
-
We are looking for a Senior Full-Stack Builder who works AI by default and wants to help shape both the product and the way we build it.
-
Own the path from ambiguous product requirements to shipped, production-quality systems.
-
Think end-to-end across frontend, backend, data, and deployment, with strong product judgment throughout.
-
Design systems that AI agents can understand, operate on, and evolve safely through clear scaffolding, explicit interfaces, and high-quality context.
-
Build maintainable systems with clear boundaries, sound abstractions, and strong engineering fundamentals.
-
Establish observability, evaluation, and feedback loops that improve both the product and the engineering system over time.
-
Help shape an engineering environment where humans and AI can collaborate effectively, responsibly, and at high speed.
Requirements
-
You have 10+ years of software engineering experience, including meaningful full-stack product engineering experience.
-
You can take an ambiguous requirement, shape the solution, and ship it well.
-
You work AI by default and know how to use AI as a serious tool for thinking, building, and iterating.
-
You do not treat AI output as truth. You verify, refine, and own the result.
-
You are comfortable working in a TypeScript and Node.js stack.
-
Deep experience in adjacent stacks is also welcome if you can ramp up quickly and deliver confidently in our current environment.
-
You have strong fundamentals in architecture, abstraction, code quality, and testing.
-
Clean Code, DRY, SRP, YAGNI, TDD, and long-term maintainability matter to you.
-
You have experience with distributed systems, multi-instance runtime environments, and concurrency concerns in production.
-
You are familiar with CI/CD, deployment trade-offs, and production monitoring.
-
You have experience writing agent-facing documentation, repository conventions, or AI collaboration guidelines.
-
You can communicate in English in meetings with teammates across the US, China, and Vietnam.
-
You are self-motivated, ownership-driven, and comfortable in a lean, high-trust startup environment.
We strongly value experienced engineers and especially welcome seasoned builders who may be overlooked by age-biased hiring norms elsewhere. We believe maturity, judgment, resilience, and real-world experience are meaningful strengths in product engineering.
Compensation & Benefits
-
Compensation range: RMB 25,000-40,000 per month, depending on experience and capability.
-
Payment method: Compensation is paid in USD via international wire transfer.
-
Working arrangement: We do not currently have a legal entity in China, so this role is structured as a full-time remote independent contractor arrangement.
-
Tax and social insurance: You will be responsible for your own tax filing, social insurance, and related local compliance matters.
-
Compensation growth: Compensation is structured on a monthly basis rather than an annual salary model. Future adjustments are tied to product performance and the business milestones we achieve as a team.
How we think about pay: If there is a strong match, we want compensation to reflect that. We want the right person to feel supported, and for their family to feel supported too, so they can build with us for the long term without unnecessary financial stress.
Work Style
-
Full-time remote. We are remote-first and intend to stay that way.
-
Timezone: China-friendly with flexibility. We collaborate across the US, China, and Vietnam. Overlap with the US team usually happens in the morning and evening rather than late at night, and most day-to-day collaboration is friendly to China-based working hours.
-
Ways of working: We are outcome-oriented rather than clock-oriented. You are expected to manage your time independently, stay responsive when the team needs you, and follow through on commitments.
-
Culture: We believe in Work-Life Harmony, not Work-Life Balance. We move with urgency and value people who want to build something meaningful over the long term, not simply complete tasks. We respect people who find a way forward, communicate transparently, keep things simple, and stay close to customer value. What this means in practice: We are not looking for someone who is only looking for the next job. We are looking for someone who wants to build with us as a true partner in the work, with ownership, responsiveness, and a genuine commitment to the product and the team.
Work Language
- English is required for spoken communication. Our team works across the US, China, and Vietnam, and cross-border meetings are conducted in English.
Hiring Process
1. Initial conversation with the technical lead to discuss your background, engineering approach, and fit for the role.
2. Technical take-home assignment designed to evaluate how you think, structure problems, and execute as a builder.
3. Deep technical follow-up with the technical lead based on your assignment submission.
4. Final conversation in English with our US-based founder, focused on why you want to join, how you think about building in a startup, and whether there is strong mutual fit for a long-term working relationship.
