About us

From engineering to healthcare, AI agents are transforming how people work. The most rapidly growing AI products access business systems (like ERP, CRM, etc.) to extract insights. However, agents currently can’t operate like humans – APIs are too restrictive, and hard-coded RPAs are too brittle. We are creating the foundational blocks to enable agents to authenticate and interact with systems just as humans do.

We are building the identity system for AI agents, allowing them to authenticate like humans so they can access data that’s available to people but not to APIs.

We’re a team of engineers who have built and hacked global-scale identity systems, backed by a16z and the founders and investors of leading startups and major identity companies.

About this role

We believe building a successful AI agent involves three key data layer pillars:

1. Discovery: Identifying the data an agent needs to perform effectively and determining where this data is stored.

2. Authentication: Securely obtaining the necessary credentials for agents to access information.

3. Ingest: Cataloging and organizing the accessed data, and defining its governance.

We believe all three pillars are critical, and we are actively developing solutions at the second pillar today.

As a Software Engineer, you will be an essential part of the product development dialogue, working to enhance the developer experience in helping AI agents access the right data. Here are some features you may be working on:

• Building a React page to help developers debug an AI agent’s authentication flow

• Building a new REST API route to enable developers proactive discover data schema across enterprise applications

• Building reliability and explainability tools (including extensive LLM eval pipelines) to promote developer trust and encourage adoption

• Something you thought would help developers better adopt ours and/or make our life easier

About You

• You are elegant yet pragmatic in your engineering approaches.

• Write good code, fast.

• You have some kind of spike: did exceptional work at a previous company, identified and joined a top startup early, excelled at a top school, or something else impressive

• Bonus point: you have built AI agents before (even in hackathon projects) or are highly engaged in the AI developer community

Engineering Stack

Since many folks have asked, we are including our current stack here. It is not necessary to have experience with it. We care more about your engineering fundamentals and good intuitions.

• Backend: TypeScript with NestJS framework and Prisma ORM. A bit of Python in a separate subsystem.

• Frontend: NextJS and React.
