About Crazy Egg
We are pioneers in data visualization and every month the work our engineers do is interacted with by billions of visitors every month. If you love the feeling of solving interesting and challenging problems, we've got them for you.
Since our inception Crazy Egg has been an all-remote company - we've never had an office - and after 16 years we like to think we've figured out how to strike that elusive work-life balance. It's why our founders, first engineers, and first designer are still here. We don't believe in sprints or marathons. We believe work should be a long steady hike. You have some challenging uphills, new vistas at the top, and surprises around the corner but it's sustainable and enjoyable.
Our all-remote team allows you the freedom to build the life you want. Although our engineers work full-time we don't have mandatory schedules and minimize meetings. If you want to have lunch with your significant other every day, go visit a friend on a weekday, stop to play with your kid when they ask, take a long walk with your dog, go to the gym in the afternoon, head to the beach to hit the best surf time, relocate to another country for a few months (when those pesky borders open) - those are all easy to do at Crazy Egg.
We believe in building the best team possible, regardless of geographic location. Our team is fully distributed all over the world and we believe in working where you’re the most productive and happiest. Because of our small team and the need for people to work asynchronously and independently, we have a minimal amount of managerial overhead and we can only hire senior-level talent. If all of your social interaction is through your work environment or you like being told exactly how to do your work, Crazy Egg's all-remote setup might not be for you (though it does allow you the flexibility to engage with your social network outside of work).
We've been a self-funded and profitable company since day one (coming up on 200 months of profitability in a row). We have the stability of an established company, the independence to operate in the manner we feel is best, and are still small enough to have the excitement of a startup. We believe in long-term relationships with our team members which is why we share in our revenue growth, provide a self-education fund, and do monthly 1:1s with a focus on personal development.
Sr. Backend Engineer

Please send your resume and your answer to the screening question below. Even if you have an outstanding resume we won’t be able to consider you without a written answer to the screening question. If we like what we see we’ll schedule you for an introductory call where you can ask more questions about Crazy Egg.
Screening Question:
Describe a time where you had a direct impact on the product or team you were working with. What was the challenge? What were the different solutions you considered? Why did you choose the solution you went with? What were the measurable results?
Note: We don’t need an essay for this. It’s a screening question. You’ll have more time in an interview to explain the details. Aim for a paragraph or two focused on the most important parts.
