Live and learn—this is a mindset that tech professionals should especially embrace.
Recently, I’ve spoken with some older tech workers, many of whom have found remote jobs, often using a programming language other than the one they’ve used most throughout their careers.
In many cases, they’ve started learning a new language. For programmers, mastering one language often makes picking up others relatively quick. So when you encounter the need to learn a new language, dive in without hesitation or burden.
Technology shares common ground, especially in middleware like Redis, MySQL, PostgreSQL, RabbitMQ, RocketMQ, Docker, as well as in database design and architecture.
These language-agnostic areas are where experienced programmers shine. Without hands-on practice and encountering pitfalls firsthand, it’s hard to gain the insights needed for optimization.
Lately, I’ve also been learning a new language, anyone else ?
What language are you learning apart from English?
