At least 3-4 years of full stack development experience at a technology company (preferably consumer) is required. It would be important to understand how to build apps that work on multiple devices that have very little edge cases and weird states. Experience with react is strongly recommended.
Typically work happens during 7:00-15:00 EST timezone, at least 3-4h overlap is desirable.

Who We Are
Archimedes is an early stage startup out to create a trusted platform for people to learn investing and make it a bigger part of their lives. Our users will learn in a fun and accessible manner through engaging content. We believe that the journey to become a more informed investor shouldn't start on social media or google.
We are a passionate group, currently building fully remote, that believe in making investment accessible to all. Our backgrounds are from Carta, WeWork, and Morgan Stanely.
Archimedes is looking for a remote Software Engineer to join our team. As one of our early engineers, you will have the opportunity to directly influence and build a better financial future for every investor.
The end-to-end product experiences you ship will help define the direction of our company. We are looking for a developer who can take ownership of a problem space and can rapidly create scalable solutions for both the front-end and the back-end with little oversight. Performance (loading and rendering) and codesize (amount of 3d-party libraries) is something that you will prioritize.
Ideally you aren't afraid of uncertainty and the process of building zero-to-one, and are someone who can collaborate with all members of our team.
We're fully remote and collaborate within the hours of 7:00-15:00 EST with some flexibility.
The mobile application has the front-end written in preact with a RESTful node.js backend. We also use a set of in-house tools and helpers. We use PostgreSQL quite heavily for CRUD, analytics and in some cases triggers. There are some animated 3d scenes made with THREE.js. Intricate animations in the UI use react-spring.
The web app is published with wrappers for android and iOS, with a bit of custom code for notifications and auth. We use integrational browser specs with puppeteer, and automatic deployments on Heroku.
Own the end-to-end implementation of mission critical features across mobile and web.

Our Cultural Values
Learn together: Our product helps people learn and navigate the complex world of financial markets. Like our customers, we are constantly learning, constantly growing, and constantly setting new goals. We stay curious, scale each other and view feedback as a gift and opportunity to learn, not personal attacks.
Build for the truth: Our users are trusting us with decisions that will affect their lives. Our educators are trusting us with their time, and personal brands. We start with empathy with our teammates, customers, and professionals. We keep in mind how our product impacts our customers' lives and not just the metrics.
Intellectual curiosity: Strive to be inquisitive. Challenge yourself and others to look past inherent biases. Think differently to find innovative solutions
Leave your ego at the door: We are a team of dreamers creating an experience that currently doesn't exist for any emerging investor. While you may be a specialist in doing something really well, it doesn’t mean that your experience presents the de-facto best way to solve our problems.
Scrappy not crappy: Be resourceful and understand that while perfection shouldn't hinder progress, we should be unapologetically proud of every experience we ship.
Bias Towards Action: Rather than spending cycles deliberating or being paralyzed by indecision, we err on the side of action. Don't be afraid to fail fast and learn quickly.
